We are looking for a number of professionals to join our expert staff this year. All candidates should have a devotion to the Catholic Faith. Part-time Spanish teacher: Qualified candidates should be prepared to teach classes from fourth grade through eighth grade. Applicants should have a strong background in Spanish, more than three years of teaching experience, and a bachelors degree – education degree preferred. The successful candidate will be able to implement a program to build strong oral and written communication skills using a variety of instructional approaches. In addition, teachers should have a love for and desire to share the culture and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries and peoples.
Part-time algebra/geometry teacher: The successful candidate will have more than five years of experience teaching algebra and geometry to middle school students, have a proven ability to assess student performance on a regular basis to determine next steps for instruction, design lesson plans that align with curriculum and standards, use appropriate classroom management skills that create a supportive environment for all students. It is important to possess a variety of instructional approaches that meet the needs of diverse learners. The successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate with parents, as well. Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Math or related field and be licensed or eligible to become so.
Kindergarten teacher: The Academy is seeking a full-time Kindergarten teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. The kindergarten teacher is responsible for teaching all core subjects and religion. Ideal candidates have a deep devotion to the Catholic faith, strong classroom management skills, experience communicating with parents, and familiarity with small group reading and math. Candidates should also be well organized. Candidates can submit a completed application to Mrs. Palaza and be eligible to become certified to teach in Virginia.
