Accreditation

Sacred Heart Academy is accredited by the Virginia Catholic Education Association (VCEA) whose accreditation process has been approved by the Virginia Council for Private Education committee on Accreditation as authorized by the Virginia State Board of Education. To maintain excellence in Catholic Schools, the Catholic Diocese of Arlington requires that all schools participate in the Design for Excellence every five years as a prerequisite for school accreditation by the VCEA.

Sacred Heart Academy’s Design for Excellence committee coordinates the implementation of goals set forth in the self-study and visiting team report. Faculty members obtain certification through the State of Virginia, or the Virginia Catholic Educational Association. Teachers of religion must also maintain or be working toward religious certification.

We engage in an ongoing process of evaluation, certification, and accreditation of both teachers and programs. This accountability guarantees the continuation of our traditionally high standards. Our curriculum meets or exceeds all all state regulations and guidelines while diocesan guidelines ensure a strong religious education curriculum.

Our faculty members are fully qualified professionals who are committed to bringing out the best in their students as they grow in knowledge, skills, and virtues.
